Currently Stitching: Craft Show Prep

I am deep in preparation for my first craft show! I've got a mock up of my booth set up in my basement and I have been rearranging it over and over to try and get the right flow! It's also kind of hard to decide what to bring, and decide if I don't want to bring anything. So for now, I've got everything out on the tables and hanging up. 

I'm not sure how people decide what to or not to bring with them. It's really hard to predict retail sales if you ask me. You don't know what kind of mood people will be in that day, or what they're going to feel like spending, or if there's really a target market. So I'm going to try and bring a variety of items and price points. Take a look at some of the things I'm bringing with me! 

I've been working on a number of patches. A lot of them are silly or just for fun, many are craft related, some are nature inspired! I love how colorful they're turning out! 

They're all made to be iron on patches! But I also like to sew around the edge just in case. I've thought about sewing some of them onto hats or clothing, but I also like giving people the option to pick and choose what they'd like to take and use in their own way.

I also found this series of book marks that I turned into patches. Truthfully, I'm not sure which people use more or less? I don't know many people who read physical books anymore. I see patches in shops many places I go, but I don't see people wearing them...

I've been working on more zipper bags in a variety of measurements and colors.

These quilted patches are fun and rewarding to make. People who have ordered them online from me are very excited to have them. So far I think they've mostly been given as gifts, which actually makes me super happy. 

I've still got quite a few the process but I love that they're the only ones that look like this. I like that a lot of my bags are one of a kind. But I'm also grateful that I can find some of the fabrics multiple times because they're popular and I can make them again!

They're a ton of fun to put together and make the table so colorful! I've been toying with the ideas of how to display them. I want to create height with some baskets and boxes, and see how that goes before I invest in anything too big. 

I also tried out some larger zipper pouches. They have a new stitch pattern and, they're two colors only, and they're quite a bit bigger. I've decided to call them Midi Pouches. It's kind of hard to decide how to name and label products. I try to pick what comes to mind right off the bat - generally based off how the fabric inspires me.

I also got a few more canvas and cotton totes ready for the show.

There's quite a few colors now, with different kinds of strapping, pockets and linings so people will have a variety to choose from!

I tried out some of the mug rug patterns I liked but decided not to take them. I wasn't confident with the quality of how some of them turned out. I also didn't have as many done as I wanted. I thought it would look kind of funny to only have one or two of each of them on the tables. 

I've read a lot of mixed things about seasonal items. Some people say they sell well any time of year. And others say to only bring seasonal items around the time of year they're going to be used. I am always curious to see what people bring and have success with. I think it's going to surprise me what people do and don't take home.

I was happy to get a variety of earrings ready for the show! They're so colorful and fun I hope I see lots of people excited to wear them! 

There's so many patterns I want to make. I love picking out the colors and trying the different designs. One of the things I'm so excited about is how colorful my booth is going to be!

Here's what she's looking like so far. I think there's still a lot of rearranging and practicing to be done. But I'm super excited with how the tables are filling up! The products are looking super cute and I can't wait to share my store with people!
